Built by an electrician, for the people who'll live with the work
Ben Thornton founded Freedom Energy after working as an electrician across the south west, driven by a simple frustration: renewable energy installers were either too small to deliver to standard or too big to care about the customer.
Freedom Energy was built to fill that gap - properly accredited, properly skilled, but family-sized and family-run.
Today, we cover solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and the full electrical scope, with MCS Certification, NICEIC approval and Octopus Trusted Partner status.
We're still small enough that Ben's on most quotes himself, but big enough to deliver flagship commercial projects, including RHS Rosemoor's 99.9kWp install in late 2024.
That balance is deliberate.
